Probio est le deuxième tableau d’un diptyque composé du tableau intitulé Hélas ! et de Probio. Deux œuvres de style Steampunk. La signature Steampunk se reconnaît à la référence faite aux dérives que la technologie a empruntée au fil du temps et aux écrous de fixation en forme de dôme en laiton répartis autour du tableau.
Chacune de mes œuvres, à l’image de l’artiste, comme le serait un Doppelgänger, comporte une recherche esthétique formelle qui, malgré les inévitables effets de mode, se veut de notre temps doublé d’une recherche de sens narratif.
Le diptyque est une œuvre mix média sur panneau de bois. Le fond de Probio, est en partie composé de larges feuilles de Tilleul, venant de l’arbre dont le bois est pour ses qualités structurelles depuis longtemps apprécié des artistes sculpteurs. Constituant la texture de fond du tableau, les feuilles peintes de différents tons de vert représentent la nature à laquelle est associée la dimension artistique et culturelle.
Sur ce fond est fixé un cadre doré au format idéalisé du rectangle d’or à l’intérieur duquel se trouvent nos œuvres ou leur effet. Dans le cas de Probio le rectangle d’or encadre la représentation d’une invention technologique parfaite.
Le traineau à chien a été conçu il y a 6000 ou 7000 ans. Il était dès le départ parfaitement adapté à l’environnement et à l’usage qui en était fait. Il est toujours fabriqué aisément à la main sans qu’il soit nécessaire de concevoir des mastodontes industriels. Il est facile à modifier, entretenir et réparer.
Les moteurs que sont les chiens sont naturellement bio dégradables et retournent à la terre des déchets organiques, qui sont en fait des substances fertilisantes. Tout le long de leur parcours et ce qui n’est pas la moindre des choses, ce sont également comme nous des mammifères avec lesquels, contrairement aux technologies dures, énergivores et destructrices de tout ce qui vit, il est possible de communiquer et échanger les émotions qui font vivre.
Probio is the second painting in a diptych consisting of the painting titled Alas! and Probio. Both works are in the Steampunk style. The Steampunk signature is recognized by the reference to the deviations technology has taken over time and the brass dome-shaped fixing nuts distributed around the painting.
Each of my works, like the artist, as a Doppelgänger would be, features a formal aesthetic research that, despite inevitable fashion effects, aims to be of our time, combined with a search for narrative meaning.
The diptych is a mixed media work on a wooden panel. The background of Probio is partly composed of large linden leaves, from the tree whose wood has long been appreciated by sculptors for its structural qualities. Forming the background texture of the painting, the leaves, painted in various shades of green, represent nature, which is associated with artistic and cultural dimensions.
On this background is fixed a golden frame in the idealized format of the golden rectangle, within which our works or their effect are found. In the case of Probio, the golden rectangle frames the representation of a perfect technological invention.
The dog sled was designed 6,000 or 7,000 years ago. From the outset, it was perfectly adapted to its environment and the use it was put to. It is still easily handmade without the need for industrial giants. It is easy to modify, maintain, and repair.
The engines, which are the dogs, are naturally biodegradable and return to the earth as organic waste, which are in fact fertilizing substances. Throughout their journey, and not the least of it, they are also, like us, mammals with whom, unlike energy-intensive and destructive hard technologies, it is possible to communicate and exchange the emotions that bring life.
